It was a Fun Night in Eudora, with lots of personal bests in the throwing events and on the track. We faced strong competition, but our athletes rose to the occasion. Juliana led the way on the track, placing in two of her three events and PR-ing in the 400. The juniors appreciated their classmate, Zach, coming by late in the evening after wrapping up his baseball game to cheer them on. #track #athletics #soareagles

James Lee and the Eagles defeat Northland Christian 1-0 to advance to the Championship game.
Senior James Lee threw 6 2/3 innings and 14 strikeouts with senior Shaphan Ming closing out the game by coaxing a ground ball to the right side for the final out.
This game was a pitching duel to the end but the Eagles were able to score after two key hits by Lee and Asher Lawson in the 6th.
With Cale Whitaker on third (running for Lee), Northland’s pitcher buries a breaking ball in the dirt. It gets away from the catcher and Whitaker sails in for the game’s only run which would be all Veritas would end up needing to secure the win.
The Eagles will play in the championship game Saturday at 3pm. Come out to the “J” in Overland Park to cheer them on!

Join us Monday evening for our Fine Arts Showcase. This wonderful event will feature our Blue Ridge music, art, and drama. Doors open at 6:30 pm.

Veritas Defeats Heritage Christian 3-2
Thursday night, in Overland Park. Lincoln Baum goes 6 innings on the mound giving up just 1 earned run with James Lee getting the save in the 7th.
Key RBI’s from Lee and Asher Lawson along with a passed ball swipe of home from Austin Alvarez were enough to move the Eagles to the 3pm Friday semi-final game of the Berkley Walline Memorial Tournament.
If the Eagles win, they play in the championship game at 3pm on Saturday.

Join us next Monday night from 5-8pm at the 31st Street Sonic to help support Eagles Athletics! 10% of all sales during that time will go to the athletic program, order at the store or in the app - no code required! Share this post and invite your friends and family! #dineout #athletics #soareagles
