Eagle Shadow Day is this Friday, April 4th from 8-11:30. This special morning is open to all students 1st-12th grade and give potential students the opportunity to experience a morning at VCS, meet teachers and students, participate in Chapel and experience the VCS difference. Ming stellar on the mound as Veritas Varsity Eagles defeat rival Christ Prep
After some great pitching from both teams, Veritas scratched out a victory over Christ Prep 3-2.
Shaphan Ming pitched a complete game for Veritas recording 21 outs.
Christ Prep got on the board in the top of the third inning after Cade Elder singled to center field, and Luke Neland hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.
Veritas made the score 3-2 in the bottom of the third with an rbi single from James Lee and two more runs scored on a passed ball.
Ming gave up four hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out five and walking two. Noah Wagner stepped on the hill first for Christ Prep. The hurler gave up five hits and three runs over five innings, striking out five and walking one.
Bryce Miller, Austin Alvarez, Abel Ney, Lee, and Baum each collected one hit for Veritas Christian Varsity Eagles.
Next up for Veritas Christian Varsity Eagles is a game at Plaza Heights Christian on Tuesday.


Abel Ney MVP As Veritas Varsity Defeats Wichita Defenders
Abel Ney collected three hits in three at bats, as Veritas defeated Wichita Defenders 8-3 on Friday at Ice Field. Ney singled in the third inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the fourth inning.
Lincoln Baum got the win and struck out 10 on the day. He gave up only three hits and one run over five innings while walking three.
Veritas managed nine hits in the game. Ney and James Lee each collected three hits. James Summers, Gavin Oberzan, Ney, Lee, and Zach Kost each drove in one run for Veritas.
JV won 4-1 in the game that followed.
Varsity plays again at home again today at 3pm vs Christ Prep, followed by the JV at 5pm.


Today was our 3rd-6th grade speech competition. Each student picked a piece to memorize and recite infront of their peers and special judges. Each student did an amazing job and we love to see their growth in public speaking from when they first start in 3rd grade to where they end up in 6th.

Veritas Christian Varsity Eagles Win In Fashion, Walk It Off Versus KC East Lions

It came down to the wire on Thursday at Ice Field, as Veritas grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 7-6, over KC East Lions. The game was tied at six in the bottom of the ninth when Asher Lawson singled, scoring one run.
Lawson collected three hits in five at bats in the win. Lawson doubled in the seventh inning, singled in the ninth inning, and singled in the first inning.
Veritas got on the board in the second inning after a wild pitch scored one run.
KC East captured the lead, 3-1, in the top of the fourth when Robert Carpenter singled, scoring one run, and Chase Morris doubled, scoring two runs.
Veritas tied the game in the bottom of the fifth thanks to a sacrifice fly by Austin Alvarez, and a ground out by Lawson.
KC East took the lead in the top of the sixth. An error scored one run, to give them the advantage, 5-4.
Veritas Christian Varsity Eagles tied the game in the bottom of the seventh thanks to a double by Lawson, and a single by James Lee to drive in Lawson.
Shaphan Ming earned the win for Veritas Christian Varsity Eagles. The reliever surrendered zero hits and zero runs over one inning, striking out two and walking two. Lincoln Baum pitched four and one-third innings in relief for Veritas Christian Varsity Eagles. The pitcher surrendered five hits and three runs (one earned) while, striking out 11 and walking none. Lee opened the game for Veritas Christian Varsity Eagles. The southpaw allowed two hits and three runs (one earned) over three and two-thirds innings, striking out nine and walking two. Aidon Carpenter led things off on the mound for KC East Lions. The starter gave up one hit and one run over four innings, striking out five and walking two.
Veritas Christian Varsity Eagles will travel to Blue Valley West Varsity Jaguars for their next game on Tuesday.
